The article makes a good point about how equating animal life with human life really ends up devaluing human life.
But I guess I’m sounding like a speciesist again…

Then we should start persecuting cats. Very clearly, my cat is a speciesist. Look up “superior” in the dictionary, and there’s her picture staring right back atcha.
Those who invented this term fail to think that we’re the only species that has the ability to condemn ourselves for thinking that we have more ability and more value than other species. That should tell you something right there.
